Decorating with Hides

Today we would like to discuss using hide in your décor. There are many ways to integrate hide in your home without having a pelt draped somewhere or used as a rug. Hide décor can come across as rustic but there are ways to decorate with hides that can add a sophisticated touch. We enjoy using hides in more subtle ways that keep our décor classy and not rustic. Some people may complain that hide is itchy but there are ways around this too. We have found some hide pillows and pillowcases that have a hide on one side and different material on the other. This type of design allows you to turn it around for comfort or show the fur for display. If you are looking for hide accent on chairs or couches opt for a design where the hide is integrated on the outer frame or back versus the cushions. Hide rugs also come in many designs. There is, of course, the typical whole pelt option we’ve all seen, or look for rugs that use several different pelts in a patterned design. Patterned designed hide rugs allow you to use hides as a rug without it looking so rustic and may surprise your visitors.

Here are some ideas you can use to help add subtle touches of hides in your house. You can add as much or as little hide to fit your design.

Living room: accent pillow, poufs, ottoman, couch, chair, or rug

Dining room: backs of dining chairs, coasters, or placemats

Bedroom: decorative hide accent on the bedframe, accent pillow, or rug

Study: chairs, or rug

Now you know there are several classy ways to integrate hide into your décor without it being rustic. Hopefully, we have sparked your interest in using hide in subtle ways across your home.
